New reports are saying that chocolate will become “like caviar” — i.e., a luxury good beyond the price range of most people — as prices and demand skyrocket.

This is terrible.  I eat an obscene amount of chocolate:  chocolate milk with breakfast, or Nutella on my toast.  A mini-chocolate bar with lunch.  Every day.  My favorite desserts all involve chocolate.  The idea of it becoming scarce is frightening — and yet, entirely realistic and probably an insight into what will happen more and more frequently in the future.  Those of us who read the In Death books knows how the artificial stuff in the future isn’t nearly as good as the real, whether it’s coffee, meat, or, yes, chocolate.

I guess I should start planning for the apocalypse now and find something new that will satisfy my cravings.  Any suggestions?
