Speaking of Audiobooks: Laura Kinsale is Coming to Audio!

Romance audio enthusiasts have something splendid coming their way in 2013 – the ever so loved and admired Laura Kinsale. I’m not talking about our usual experience of seeing an audio release here and another there as we wonder about the timing of the next release and especially the chosen narrator. It’s much bigger than that.

How about seeing her entire backlist in 2013? That’s the plan – twelve extraordinary tales as only Laura Kinsale can deliver. And our wait won’t be all that long with five to six of those titles released around mid-year followed by the balance before year-end. As one of my favorite authors in print, I was thrilled with this news. After all, I’ve been wishing for Kinsale audios out loud for several years now.

Colorful Candy Bar Cookies

teacookieslgI am always looking for something new to include in my Christmas baked gifts. I’ve been playing with this particular recipe for awhile. The initial recipe called for refrigerated Pillsbury sugar cookie dough. Disaster! The cookies did not turn out at all. This worked much better.

Colorful Candy Bar Cookies

3/4 stick Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup finely chopped candy bars of your choice (Twix not recommended)
Colored (red or green) sugar

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Beat shortening, brown sugar, sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl of electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Beat in egg. Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
