Elaine, can I ask where you live? You’ve clearly given this a lot of thought, so I’m curious.
I am married to a Northern Irish man and lived there for quite some time, and my professional life is tied to the peace process in several ways, so I have significant concerns about the callousness with which the border is being treated by everyone but the Irish government.
BJ, I think the debate will be interesting – especially with the accusations of misinformation (Nigel’s Big Red Bus, for example). But my understanding from legal folks is that any challenge, truly, to the vote is arduous and largely futile. So what now? That’s what all my family and friends in Ireland and Northern Ireland are asking – what happens, realistically, now? And why didn’t anyone have a plan?!
