I enjoy spending as much time as I can between the covers of a book, traveling through time and around the world. When I'm not having adventures with fictional characters, I'm an attorney in Virginia and I love just hanging out with my husband, little man, and the cat who rules our house.
Favorite Romance
It's too hard to name just one! Here are a few of my top reads: Classics - Persuasion by Jane Austen and Venetia by Georgette Heyer; Modern - Roselynde by Roberta Gellis and The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn
Favorite Non-Romance
Emily of New Moon by LM Montgomery, The Firebird by Susanna Kearsley (maybe not romance under the strictest defiinition, but still mighty romantic; I'd consider this a "Novel With Strong Romantic Elements," and yes, I am still irked at RWA for eliminating that category.
What I Love in a Romance
Books with a real sense of place, big and meaty historicals with lots of period detail, gothics, characters who grow and change throughout the story.
What I Hate in a Romance
Ridiculous misunderstandings, "Taming of the Shrew" plots, heroes/heroines doing stupid things and not learning from them, endless mental lusting.
