I live in Seattle, Washington and work as a legal assistant. I remember learning to read (comic strips) at a young age and nowadays try to read about 5-6 books a week. I love to travel, especially to Europe, and enjoy exploring smaller towns off the tourist track though London is my favorite city in the world.
Anything Grace Draven - just finished Eidolon, the sequel to Radiant.
Frederica and Venetia by Georgette Heyer. So many have tried, but they don't even come close.
The Sherlock Holmes canon!
What I Love in a Romance
Good writing and characters that make sense. And books that read like the author and editors put in an effort. And I love the feels! It does make a grey day nicer.
What I Hate in a Romance
Books that feel like people just couldn't be arsed. And overwrought, cliched, purple, badly edited, or dumbed down writing. If we want people to stop thinking of romance as crap, then we have to stop writing, and reading, crap.
