I'm a history geek and educator, and I've lived in five different countries in North America, Asia, and Europe. In addition to the usual subgenres, I'm partial to YA, Sci-fi/Fantasy, and graphic novels. I love to cook.

What I Love in a Romance

Detailed settings (contemporary, historical, or imaginary), sexy banter, "good guy" heroes, genius heroes, intelligent and competent heroines, intricate plots, drawn-out sexual tension, relationships based on cooperation and respect, characters with a sense of humor and laugh-out-loud scenes.

What I Hate in a Romance

Any conflict which could be resolved by a five minute honest conversation, emotionally abusive heroes and their doormat heroines, authors who conflate rude/violent heroines with strong heroines.

A Bit More About Me

Favorite classic: Jane Eyre (and my favorite adaptation is the 2006 Ruth Wilson/Toby Stephens)

Guilty pleasure: Eden Burning by Elizabeth Lowell

Favorite couple: Han Solo and Princess Leia (and I deny The Force Awakens with every fiber of my being).
