I'm a city-fied suburban hockey mom who owns more books than I will probably ever manage to read in my lifetime, but I'm determined to try.

All time favorite - as in, the one book I would take on a deserted island - simply has to be <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=1575" ;>Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

But so many others...

Pretty much all of Suzanne Brockmann's SEAL books are favs, but specifically <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=2188" ;>Out of Control, <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=7494" ;>The Admiral's Bride, and <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=2189" ;>Over the Edge. And <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=2969" ;>Flashpoint. And <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=2184" ;>Get Lucky.

The first four books of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, most notably, <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=5766" ;>Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward.

<a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=4736" ;>Mackenzie's Mountain by Linda Howard

<a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=9430" ;>The Best Man by Kristan Higgins

<a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=10024" ;>Fortune's Pawn by Rachel Bach

<a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=9541" ;>The Turncoat: Renegades of the Revolution by Donna Thorland

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

<a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=9466" ;>Eleanor and Park and <a href=" http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=10062" ;>Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This writer can do no wrong.

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

The Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Protective heroes, strong heroines, rescue stories, bad boys with hearts of gold, unresolved sexual tension, good writing and snappy, realistic dialogue.

Dirty talk and overly-descriptive sex scenes, too-stupid-to-live heroines, Big Misunderstandings, babies and kids, orgasmic virgins, and body piercings.

Every summer, I enjoy back-to-back all-nighter binge viewings of The Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended diretcor's cut) and the BBC miniseries Pride and Prejudice. I believe that Collin Firth is THE quintessential Mr. Darcy, but I didn't hate Matthew MacFadyen. I've been on the Oprah show. I hoard books and yarn and my dear husband, bless his soul, has never once complained about that. I love the Chicago Blackhawks and find all sports other than ice hockey to be painfully slow and boring. I might agree with Dabney Grinnan that there's never been a better show than Buffy, but I might argue for The West Wing as a hard choice for Desert Isle viewing. After saving my children and pets, I'd probably grab my iPad on the way out of a burning house.
