Nautier and Wilder

The two stories included in Nautier and Wilder were somewhat similar and my reaction to them was much the same. Both stories are romantic suspense and involve women being protected from bad guys by the men in their life. Both dealt with over the top scenarios that put these otherwise ordinary people in danger. Both starred men named Jed, for some strange reason, and both featured some creepy peeping-Tom action.

I was very confused as to why the two male leads had the same name. Understandably, these are two separate stories by different authors, but one name could’ve easily been changed. The similarity caused the stories to blend together in my mind.

One huge complaint I had was that both men spied on the women. I’m not sure if this was supposed to come across as protective or sexy, but it was neither. In both cases, the men installed security cameras in the homes of the women, without their knowledge, and then used them to watch the girls at their leisure. In the first story, the first Jed actually has a camera in Piper’s bedroom. It came off as creepy and made me instantly dislike Jed.

I did like the romantic interactions in both stories and felt that the love scenes were well written. I had not previously read any of the Nauti or Wild Riders series, so I was coming at both stories without any prior knowledge. I think they were each easy enough to follow, but could have used some additional information about who the characters were and how they fit into their respective series.
