As you may guess from the title, these stories all have heroes who are younger than their heroines. Intriguing, to say the least, I thought, and for the most part I wasn’t disappointed.
The stories in this anthology are linked by their Scottish setting, but are otherwise very diverse, with contemporary, historical, time-travel, paranormal, and Christmas elements.
As with most anthologies, Something to Celebrate is a blend of good and and not-so-good storytelling. In this case, all three stories center around the December holidays, and of course, plenty of romance.
I like to think of anthologies of this sort, all of whose Christmas-themed stories have appeared in other collections, as kind of like a government-surplus auction. In order to get something good, you’ve got to accept a white elephant or two.
