Today’s Steals and Deals at AAR…..

This one is a personal favorite of mine. I love Zach so hard–he’s a keeper as is this book!

Where Dreams Begin is the best historical romance I have read this year. This book really has it all – wonderful, vivid characters, an ambitious conflict, an engaging plot, and a tear-jerker of an ending. And it’s all written in a style that is absolutely flawless.

Yes, the earlier Cynster books are throwbacks but, hey, they are a fun, kinda nutty ride. This one is a DIK

I’ve never been disappointed by a Stephanie Laurens book and Scandal’s Bride is no exception. Her heroes are strong, dependable and delightfully arrogant. The Cynster men are well aware of what few faults they have, and those who have been caught by the matrimonial knot willingly surrender to home and hearth. After all, To Have and To Hold is the Cynster family motto. Richard is no different. While not as enigmatic as his half-brother Devil, he is a dangerously attractive, likable rake who would rather have Catriona as his willing wife than just a bed partner. And what a Cynster wants, a Cynster gets.

This is a hot and heavy good time. In our B+ review, we wrote:

Taken by Desire begins with a bang: During a house party, Miss Anna Steele walks down a corridor at night to post a letter, only to come across Alexander Struthers leaving her sister Maddie’s room, while Maddie’s very jealous husband Lord Milson, a crack shot, comes from the other direction. On an impulse, Anna grabs Struthers for a very thorough kiss. When Lord Milson threatens a scandal, Struthers proposes. Anna first refuses him, because as an heiress she feels no need to marry and she believes her friends will help her to weather any scandal, but circumstances force her to change her mind. Soon she and Struthers are wed and, after a rather boring wedding night relocate to London, each to their own house, to get used to the change in their lives.

This is a big hearted jumble of a book.

This book is such a fun romp that head-hops between various characters, each of whom are funny, horrifying or calamitous in their own ways. The book is a messy riot of art and romance and humor (the best plotlines are Leo and Lauren’s very stable romance and Melinda’s newfound love for Dan the barkeep). Olivia is the only weakly-drawn character in the book; I liked her but she needed to be rounded out. It’s a solid story about love, parenthood, and the pursuit of citybound happiness, and the loose camaraderie works very well and builds quite realistically.

What happened to Lisa Kleypas dose anyone know?

Hannah R

Does anyone know why she hasn’t released a book in almost five years?

SofhiaMarie

Damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t. Poor woman

I have so much love for Where Dreams Begin. I feel like Kleypas’ standalone books get forgotten sometimes.
