We are so excited these two fab authors are publishing again! This one is FUN!

Bexley “Bex” Simon and Sam Farmer are two actresses who struck it lucky with a successful, long-lived cult detective drama called Craven’s Daughter. Five years after the show’s finale, Bex and Sam are reuniting for a podcast and a reunion special. Both will probe the murder of a crew member, Jen Arnot, their beloved makeup woman, whose inexplicable death shadowed the show’s final episodes in tragedy. Since their friendship didn’t survive the end of the show, coming back together is a huge deal for them – and fans whispering about the possibility of Bex and Sam getting together for real adds to the buzz.

Readers love this WWII tale. We enjoyed it too.

The lives of three real women are fictionalized in this WWII story that highlights how the horrors of that conflict connected people who would otherwise never have met. A difficult and disturbing read, this is a tale of how war can bring out the best in us – or the worst.

This is a story told through the eyes of three different narrators. We start with New York socialite Caroline Ferriday, a former Broadway actress who is now a volunteer at the French consulate. Things have never been busier for Caroline. The halls and waiting rooms of the consulate are filled with refugees as the troubles in Europe escalate. Her job is to help French citizens visiting or living in America but her passion is raising money for her French Families Fund. A change to the keynote speaker at her capital raising gala from the French Foreign Minister to sexy actor Paul Rodierre proves cataclysmic for her as she slowly falls under the spell of this charming – but married – man.

We gave this sexy contemp a B+.

Jessica Lemmon’s The Bastard Billionaire is the third book in her Billionaire Bad Boys series, and just in case you couldn’t guess – the heroes are billionaires. But don’t worry because there is a lot more to these guys than just big bank accounts. They are three very different and fascinating brothers who, with their widowed father, form the tightknit, loving and wealthy Crane family, and each brother has his own stand-alone book. The Bastard Billionaire features middle brother, Elijah Crane, and while it appears to be a lighthearted, fun romance, it deftly and compassionately delves into complicated subject matter making it much more than your typical ‘rich playboy’ romance.

This powerful read is a DIK for us.

The worldbuilding alone is worth the price of admission to Daughters of Jubilation.  Corthron’s approach toward magic – and how it affects each of the women in the Deschamps family for better or worse, is multilayered and a great example of letting characters drive your universe instead of the other way around.

Aside from its exploration of magic, the book combines family feelings, generational conflicts, the swoony feeling of youthful falling in love, and the bigger picture of life in the racist hell that was the segregated south in the early 1960s.  You can feel the heat of the summer sun, the way it wavers up from car hoods, the sound of owls in the trees, and the smell of tomatoes frying.
