Today’s Steals and Deals at AAR…..
I’ll be honest–it’s not a great day for romances on sale. So it goes.
It is, however, an excellent day for fiction, good fiction, on sale.

This Hannah book, though not labeled as a romance, is a story about great love. As we wrote in our review:
Angel Falls is a story about family, a real family, and how they pull together in a terrible crisis. It isn’t a romance, although romance surrounds the story. It is about a husband and children and how they manage as their wife and mother struggles to remember who she is and what is important about her life. Mostly, it is about Liam Campbell, the wonderful gentle husband who would do anything to make his wife better.

My love of The Dutch House is extreme. I can’t help it–I listened to the audiobook, sublimely narrated by Tom Hanks, and then I read this article about the audiobook which broke me, and on top of that, this is my favorite of Patchett’s many excellent work.

This has been on my TBR for a while. It’s one of my best friend’s favorite books and, let me tell you, that is an impressive rec. I’m buying it!

Santopolo is a best selling author whom I’ve not read. The price is right on this one and readers rave about it.

Thank you so much for that link to Ann Patchett’s writing in Harper’s. That was so beautiful and it makes me want to live a life with people coming in and out of it like hers does.
For me, the two best long-form articles written in the past five years are that and this. Both are about how the only real way to respond to life’s greatest losses is to open your heart even more. I’m glad you liked it!
I read the Harper’s article yesterday, then I forwarded it to my husband. It’s so amazing. Thank you so much for sharing it. I’m going to read this next.
It’s pretty fabulous.
