Today’s Steals and Deals at AAR…..

Sorry I missed yesterday! Technical problems…. now, thankfully resolved!

Love epistolary romances? Here you go! In our B+ review of this one, our reviewer wrote: I’ll confess that this is my first Bridgerton novel. I know now I want more of them, I want all of them. As soon as I finish this review, I’m going to the bookstore. What an endearing family!!

I like the Carsingtons MORE than I do the Bridgertons if I’m being honest! In our review, we said:

I found this to be a fun book. I enjoyed watching Darius fall victim to Feelings while not entirely abandoning Logic, and Charlotte learning to trust a man and express her emotions without fear of disappointing. Loretta Chase never disappoints me, and I can easily recommend the fun and sometimes touching Not Quite a Lady.

This one is a lot of fun

This is a slow burn romance as neither Katie nor Wil is sure how deeply they should become involved, believing that their time together is limited. Katie’s life comes with the challenges of fame – paparazzi everywhere and privacy limitations that Wil has to adapt to. But she’s willing to do that if it means a chance to be together permanently. The road to a happy ending comes with challenges, strength, and courage and the character growth of both Katie and Wil is touching and emotional. Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is a wonderful collaboration from these two romance authors.

We gave this one a DIK.

I loved this book, and it’s a particularly impressive début. The story is tight and well-written, the protagonists feel anchored and don’t fall into archetypes, and the emotional stakes are high. I loved Cassie and Aiden, who are both dealing with a lot and have needs not being met. Aiden is emotionally vulnerable, due to being new to single fatherhood, and feeling like he doesn’t have anything to offer a partner. He feels insecure about being a good dad to Sophie, especially due to the fact that his job is incredibly demanding. Cassie came from a loveless home and she’s had to work to support herself since age eighteen, which makes it hard for her to be open with another person. She’s empathetic and caring, but has a hard time accepting love, which makes sense for her character.
