There are days when non-romances come on sale and, even though I know that’s not what readers of this list are looking for, I still have to share the deal because I so love the book. Such it is with The Sparrow. It’s a truly extraordinary read. It’s brilliant, moving, horrifying, and I’ve thought about it many many times since I first read it almost twenty years ago.
