Today’s Steals and Deals at AAR…..

We love Adrienne Young’s novels. Her two most recent works, this one and Spells for Forgetting, are highly praised DIKs at AAR. About this one, our reviewer said: What I can say is I loved this book. It’s such an interesting mix of genres and stories. There’s time travel and swoon-inducing romance and June discovering who she is and deciding who she was meant to be.

This queer contemp got a DIK from us. Our reviewer said: Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is a delightful story of two women finding love where they least expect it, and I highly recommend it.

Love historical fiction? This one’s a gem. We gave it a DIK and said: Mila is a fabulous central figure. Warm, tough, playful, heartbroken and uncompromising, sometimes all at the same time, she is a wonderful person to follow around. The Diamond Eye combines a war narrative with an assassination plot and Mila’s domestic concerns (and the romance, which is a very nice bonus).

Overall, The Diamond Eye thrills its readers and gives them a heroine worth rooting for.  It gets high marks for that alone.

And here’s another DIK! We loved this sassy, sexy contemporary romance! It’s is a wonderful book and a delightful conclusion to the Boyfriend Project series. If you are a fan of smexy contemporary romances at all, [we] think you will enjoy this one.

Lastly it’s–you guessed it!–another DIK. We said: The setting is impeccably researched, and the history of the booze business comes through the page. This book takes us from the Caribbean to Paris to Scotland, and each setting is carefully and meticulously portrayed.

A Caribbean Heiress in Paris is a lovely romance that opens a promising series and adds to Herrera’s long list of successes.
