There’s a lot to love about this book, but what I appreciate the most about The Accidental Wedding is the way that Gracie takes conventions of the romance novel that have been done to death—amnesia, injured hero, heroine who does too much—and turns them into a story that is fresh and new and interesting. That takes talent. And this, plus two charming main characters, a suspenseful subplot, and some delightful love scenes, makes for a near-perfect read.
So, we didn’t love Julie Garwood’s The Ideal Man (our review is here), readers did. To be fair, our reviewer thought it was overpriced at 28 bucks for the hard cover. (Remember when books weren’t dirt cheap?) In her review, she wrote: The Ideal Man was a quick read. It didn’t drag, and kept me moderately entertained. YMMV.

So I ended up enjoying A View to a Kiss after all. For me, the more muted and mystery-oriented second half worked better than the first, but if you delight in characters that throw caution into the wind because they are overcome by passion, you will probably like like it even more than I did.
