Ten days ago, I planted the vegetable bed in the garden: carrots, radishes, lettuce, and kohlrabi. I was very proud and happy, until I discovered that not only do slugs love lettuce, there also is a sizeable slug population in my garden – either that, or they have an excellent sense of smell. They have since razed the lettuce.
What am I to do now? I could easily plant more lettuce, but how to defend it against the invaders? Or have you got any suggestions what else I could plant that slugs don’t eat? I am grateful for your advice!
