The stories in Hot for the Holidays have a tenuous tie to the Christmas season but could easily be set at any time of the year. This is a mostly fun read especially if you like your stories on the steamy side.
The publisher’s blurb calls this one “four sexy stories of mixed-up couples and mistaken identities.” That’s a stretch since for the most part the contrivances are dealt with expeditiously, but this is a pleasant enough anthology with pleasant enough stories.
When I saw the Never After anthology on our review list at AAR, I had to pounce on it. This anthology features some very strong authors and I expected great stories. As it turned out, most of the authors were not at their best here, but the anthology was still a good read.
Carla Kelly says it well in her introduction: A short story is “an exercise in restraint,” and her contribution is exemplary. Too bad the other two stories aren’t as well.
