Ali Hazelwood revealed her cover for the Bride sequel, Mate coming Oct. 7th. I like the green cover. There is also a sequel to The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson coming called The Mating Game (no cover or release date yet). I read a preview of it and it looks really good.
yay!
Jordan Castillo Price has a book coming out on 3/13 – The Outcast Orc: MM Fantasy Romance (Claimed by the Red Hand Book 1).
It Seems that Orc and “monster” romances are in vogue right now, although I admit, they’re not really my thing. I love JCP’s PsyCop series, though, so I might give this one a try.
I only have a few books on my March tbr–and, frankly, two of them (Rachel Reid’s THE SHOTS YOU TAKE and Charlotte Stein’s MY BIG FAT FAKE MARRIAGE) are way too pricey for me right now (both of them are about $13 with tax). I’ll have to wait for either a sale or a library hold for those two. The other book I’m looking forward to is Nicky James’s READING BETWEEN THE LINES (March 6). I’m completely invested in Tal & Diem’s relationship now that they’re officially a couple and working together as P.I.s. I like them almost more than I like Valor & Doyle–and that’s really saying something.
I’m looking forward to Virginia Heath’s latest Harlequin Historical, Only an Heiress Will Do. It’s the first in a 4 book series written by Lucy Morris, Sarah Rodi and Ella Matthews, who usually write Viking and Medieval romance.
Not a surprise that I’m most looking forward to the M/M releases, including Rachel Reid’s newest, The Shots You Take, and Nicky James’ Reading Between the Lines. Rachel Reid’s newest hockey series is different than Game Changers, but no less enjoyable so far. Nicky James is an autobuy author for me, and I’m definitely invested in this series. I’ll listen to the audiobooks for both since the narrators are favorites of mine.
I listened to the last Sandra Brown release, Out of Nowhere, and thought it wasn’t well written. I usually enjoy her romantic suspense books. I’m going to wait for more reviews before attempting the newest one.
I loved the Reid (and Greg B. is narrating the audio version – squee!!) and I liked the James, Hill and Albert – watch this space for reviews!
Looking forward to the books by Susanna Kearsley and Cara Bastone. And the Elizabeth Everett, although she’s sadly confirmed it will be her last historical indefinitely.
Oh no, I’m sad to hear this will be Everett’s last historical. I hope she will continue to write – I really enjoy her books.
Where did you see that about Everett? Thanks!

From a couple months back, when the “death of HR” discourse started on Threads. Numerous HR authors have posted there about being dropped by trad publishers or otherwise told to pivot to contemporary or fantasy. Harper St. George, Liana de la Rosa, and Amalie Howard are a few others off the top of my head.
I tried posting a link from Threads, but it may have prevented the comment from appearing?
It did get snagged as spam. I’ve published it. Thanks!
NOOOOO I LOVE HER HISTORICALS
Traditional publishers are ditching HR authors by the bucketload. I didn’t care much for Everett’s books, but I did like Kate Bateman who announced a couple of weeks back that her contract wasn’t being renewed.
oh shoot, I like her books too!
I read an advanced copy of the Cara Bastone book and it was amazing! I’m already looking forward to a re-read.
The one I’m most looking forward to reading is Wild Side by Elsie Silver.
I have seen her books in my bookstore, but had never heard of her before then.
I am looking forward to a book not mentioned above: C.J. Archer’s final installment of Glass Library series. Her Glass and Steele series is a big favorite of mine and this follow-up, though not as wonderfully romantic as its predecessor, is still quite good.
Broken Country has a ton of buzz–my review runs on the pub date. I couldn’t put it down. I’ll also be reviewing Count My Lies.
And for those who loved Compass and Blade, I’ll be reviewing Shadow and Tide, book two in Rachel Greenlaw’s trilogy.
There’s a long waiting list for Broken Country at my library. I might have to stock up on kleenex for this one.
I did not find it super sad. It’s more the vibe of Where the Crawdads Sing–there are tragedies in the story but the real push is what happened and why.
I need to pick up that second volume!
I think you’d like it!
