  • A Historical Christmas Present

Occasionally, I can’t concentrate on a full-length romance novel, and that’s when I grab an anthology. In addition, they are a great place for testing unknown authors and have introduced me to several authors whose works I now collect. Autumn always brings an flood of anthologies with a Christmas theme, and the first that caught…

  • The Magical Christmas Cat

I own more than one cat nightshirt. I am not above putting outfits on my own kitty and forcing him to pose. Put these facts together and it’s obvious that my tolerance for cat sap is, as you can tell, incredibly high. Still, even starting from my extreme level of Cat Lady-dom, I found the…

  • The Pleasure of His Bed

The erotic romance The Pleasure of His Bed did not arouse, titillate, or otherwise excite. It took me a week to read two of the three short stories, mostly because I couldn’t tolerate more than a few pages at a time. My eyes rolled so often while enduring most of this book that I feared…

  • Hallowe’en Husbands

I’ve reviewed many a Christmas anthology in my time, but Halloween anthologies are not as plentiful. Given my generally favorable stance on holiday stories, I was eager to give Hallowe’en Husbands a shot, and for the most part I wasn’t disappointed. One story was a bust, but the other two were quick and enjoyable –…

There are two reviews of this book Shifter is that rare anthology that features no disasters; each of the four short stories involving shapeshifters are above average. Unfortunately, none really rise all that far above average. One is more memorable, but the remaining three don’t linger in the mind much past the book’s final page.

  • Private Places

Private Places is billed as an historical erotic anthology. Though the sensuality levels varied wildly from story to story and one historical setting was so one-of-these-things-is-not-like-the-other, there are a couple of gems in here.

  • Rescue Me

This collection of stories is exactly what the name Rescue Me implies: A series of rescues of damsels in distress by their knights in shining armor – except the knights are actually Special Forces or police and the damsels are pretty tough too.

  • Baddest Bad Boys

I plunked down full price for this anthology simply to read Shannon McKenna’s novella. But it, along with the other two, didn’t engage me as many of the previous Bad Boys books I’ve read. Romantic suspense premises act as a catalyst to bring each of the three couples together and sets up strong cabin romance…
