What are you excited about watching this summer?

It’s summertime and the watching is… what?

It used to be that there was nothing on in the summer. Streaming has changed all that. (Although, as far as I’m concerned, there are no interesting sports on once basketball is done….)

I’m so excited for the final season of Endeavour. (Those on the other side of the pond who’ve already seen it, I’m jealous and do not spoil a thing, please!) I’m also dying to watch the third and final season of Happy Valley–there will be six episodes, four have already aired. I’m waiting for them all to drop before I binge! And given my giant crush on Timothy Olyphant and my deep deep love for Justified, I will be glued to the screen when Justified: City Primeval drops on July 18th. I love me some Idris and the production team is one I trust, so I’m also going to watch Hijack when in comes out at the end of this month. Lastly, I’m very much looking forward to the third season of Only Murders in the Building. Meryl Streep, complete with hair right out of The Sound of Music, joins the already excellent cast!

Movie wise, I’m sure we’ll see the penultimate Mission Impossible film, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, when it comes out next month. Those movies are mindlessly entertaining in a way that feels perfect for a hot summer night. I’m also pumped for Oppenheimer, the latest Christopher Nolan film which stars Cillian Murphy. I’m hoping Red, White, and Royal Blue is as good as the book.
